Thomas Compton

Tom lives in Troy, Ohio with his wife Cheryl. They have three adult children and 7 grandchildren. Tom is a 1965 graduate of Van Wert High School, a 1969 graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, and he received his MBA in finance from Xavier University in 1973.

Tom worked at Armco Steel (now known as AK Steel), a leading integrated steel producer, from 1969 to 1990, serving as the Vice President of Operations in the latter two years. In 1990, Tom was named President and CEO of International Mill Service, a provider of specialized technical and operating services to steel mills. In 1994, he was named President and CEO of Precision Strip Inc. Precision Strip is a processor of flat rolled steel and aluminum with 11 plants in the eastern United States. It is the largest metal processor in the United States. Tom stepped down as President, becoming Chairman in 2007 and retired at the end of 2012.

Over the last several years Tom has served on the Board of Directors for Minster Financial Corp.; Dayton Art Institute; Ohio Northern University; and, of course, Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices.
